For the last 34 years, the West Vancouver Concert Band has delighted audiences in both the North Shore & Vancouver areas.  It is a non-profit community band with members coming from all areas of the Lower Mainland.   The band provides an opportunity for adults to enjoy playing and performing music together and to participate in sustaining a self-supporting, amateur, musical organization.

Concert venues vary from a night playing at a Seniors Centre to a concert in a downtown Band shell on a sunny summer day. Although the band rehearses in West Vancouver, the locations of the concerts are throughout the Lower Mainland, some of the bands recurring concerts & locations are:

•  West Van Senior’s Centre, West Vancouver
   Lynn Valley Days, North Vancouver
   West Van Community Days, West Vancouver
   Kiwanis Lynn Manor, North Vancouver
   Cedarview Lodge, North Vancouver

However, the Band’s most noteworthy concert is the annual Christmas Dinner at The Salvation Army Harbour Lights Mission in Vancouver.  The Band has been playing at this dinner for the last 30 years! & the tradition continues this year!

The band, under the directorship of Tak Maeda, rehearses Monday night from 8 to 10 PM at the Irwin Park Elementary School 2455 Haywood Ave., West Vancouver.
